Why You'll Love This Recipe

Cooking a whole turkey breast is easier than you may think! This bone-in turkey breast from Honeysuckle White comes frozen or fresh and it truly is the perfect option for feeding a smaller group!

Here are some more reasons why you're going to love this easy turkey breast recipe...

Great for small groups or holiday meals! Forget having to cook a whole bird...this smaller option is the easiest way to enjoy the flavors of a turkey dinner you love without the cooking time of a large turkey or even a whole chicken.

Each Honeysuckle White Bone-In Turkey Breast comes with a super convenient pop-up timer! No second guessing the cook time. When the roast turkey breast reaches the correct internal temperature, the timer will pop up! No dry meat here. However if you'd like to double check, insert a meat thermometer (use my favorite instant-read thermometer!) into the thickest part of the breast. As a general rule of thumb, you are looking for an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

No growth-promoting antibiotics! You can know you are making the best choice for your family when you choose a turkey from Honeysuckle White. Whether its a boneless turkey breast, turkey tenderloin, or a whole bird!

You still get the best parts of a turkey! With this whole breast option you still get the crispy skin of the turkey breast, delicious white meat, and if you're lucky you may even end up with some leftover turkey to use in more delicious recipes like a Leftover Turkey Lentil Soup or Turkey Pot Pie!

Roasting is a simple cooking process. It takes a quick marinade and takes less time than a traditional dry brine or wet brine. You could even use an oven bag for roasting if you like!

Honey Mustard Roasted Turkey Breast Ingredients

Simple ingredients combined with the highest quality, best turkey breast mixed with a little bit of love can only result in the most delicious meal! Here's what you'll need for this recipe...

Roasted bone-in turkey breast ingredients in glass bowls.

Honeysuckle White Frozen Turkey Breast - use a bone in turkey breast for tons of flavor but you could also substitute in boneless breast if you like. The bone-in turkey breasts come between 1-8 lb turkey breasts - choose the best option for your dinner size.

Dijon Mustard  & Whole Grain Mustard - this combination of tangy mustards in the marinade will give you the best results and juicy meat!

Honey - using honey to sweeten up the sauce and balance out the acidity of the mustard will give the breast meat a great flavor.

Salt, Black Pepper, Paprika - don't forget to season the marinade! While it may seem like a simple mix of spices it really adds tons of flavor. If you are a garlic lover

Apple Cider Vinegar - another acidic addition is the best way to ensure you get tender meat.

Olive Oil - to bring the marinade all together, emulsify it with some olive oil.

Substitutions and Variations

Want to switch something up in this simple recipe? Go for it! It's easy to make some swaps and a great way to customize this recipe for you & your needs. And it may even save you a trip to the grocery store!

  • Substitute in lemon juice or white wine for the apple cider vinegar - it's a personal preference!
  • If you are a garlic lover, add in some freshly minced garlic to the marinade.
  • Boneless breast instead of bone-in breast turkey is always an easy option!
  • Room temperature butter (or a melted herb butter) instead of olive oil.

Step by Step Instructions

Easy to follow steps for how to cook a turkey breast in the oven!

Steps 1-4 for cooking a bone-in turkey breast in the oven.
Final plated Honey Mustard Turkey Breast.
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the mustards, salt, pepper, paprika, honey, olive oil and apple cider vinegar.
  2. Place the thawed turkey breast on a sheet pan, breast side up, and pat dry using paper towels.
  3. Evenly pour or brush the marinade over the entire turkey skin and cover with aluminum foil. Refrigerate for 30 minutes up to 4 hours.
  4. When ready to cook, add a roasting rack to the sheet pan and place the turkey, skin side up, into a preheated oven set to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Cook uncovered for 30 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees and continue cooking for another 35-45 minutes, or until an instant read thermometer reads 165 degrees (or the convenient pop-up timer pops up) and the turkey skin is golden brown.
  5. Remove the turkey from the oven and let the turkey breast rest for approximately 10 minutes. Transfer to a cutting board and slice using a sharp knife and enjoy the juicy turkey breast with your favorite side dishes.

PRO TIP: Reserve the pan juices in the bottom of the pan to make gravy for breakfast the next day!
