Substitutions
There are a few different variations I've seen of this chocolate dessert dip, and while these are the simpliest ingredients...you could definitely swap in substitutions!
- Hot cocoa could be swapped for cocoa powder + extra sweetener like agave syrup.
- Swap out the marshmallow fluff for cream cheese. This will make it a bit more dense and more like a chocolate cheesecake dip.
- You could sub out the cool whip and make hot cocoa dip with heavy whipping cream if you'd like! Just whip up the heavy cream first before adding the rest of the ingredients.
- If you are dairy free, you could also use a non dairy whipped topping from the frozen department!
How to Make Creamy Hot Cocoa Dip

Tools Needed
- mixing bowl

Favorite Dippers for Hot Cocoa Dip
The hot cocoa dippers are another way to make this dip your very own. While I stuck with graham crackers, there are so many options from salty to sweet...
- Nilla Wafers
- Pretzel Sticks
- Ritz Crackers
- Cinnamon Graham Crackers
- Large Marshmallows
- Gingerbread Men cookies
What To Serve With Hot Chocolate Dip
In my opinion, this marshmallow fluff hot chocolate dip would be best served up along side more fresh dessert options like Fruit Charcuterie or a cheese plate!
It's very sweet and would be a great addition to any dessert table at your Christmas parties!
