As someone who also starts my own seeds, owns a greenhouse and multiple outdoor raised garden beds, I wanted to see how an indoor garden would stack up!
Imagine a beautiful indoor garden that's not only zero mess and minimal maintenance but also grows fresh & gorgeous produce, flowers, and herbs right at home.
Why I Love It:
- The lights are specifically designed to jumpstart these plants and grows things exceptionally fast. Which is great because for my food photography I'm always needing fresh herbs and edible flowers. (Perfect for garnishing cocktails like my Peachy Bourbon Smash!)
- Easy to assemble and maintain - just fill the tank with water and the indicator on the side easily tells you when you need to refill! No remembering to have to water them daily.
- You can actually transplant these plants outdoors! They've been grown in the best conditions indoors so they have an amazing jump start, remove them from their pod and plant outside!
- SO many great plants to choose from. Vegetables, flowers, edible flowers, and fruits to name a few! Perfect for dishes like a Late Summer Vegetable Pasta!
What I'm Growing Indoors
My Smart Garden 27 has 3 rows with 9 pods in each row! It's plenty of room to grow all of our favorites we need on a daily basis.
Garden One: Tomatoes and Lettuce
Nothing beats picking ripe, juicy tomatoes and crisp lettuce leaves right in my kitchen. We've loved incorporating these into quick salads and sandwiches. And honestly, nothing you buy at the store comes close to the flavor of growing things at home.
Garden Two: Italian Herbs
My food blogging and photography job means herbs are a constant in my recipes! Growing my own basil, oregano, and thyme has saved me countless grocery runs and money. Plus, fresh-picked herbs elevate every dish!
Garden Three: Edible Flowers
Calendula, pansy, and cornflowers add a stunning touch to any recipe and photograph beautifully. The kids also love learning about the flowers and taste-testing them (they’re obviously fascinated that you can eat flowers!).
They are the easiest way to create a special experience when serving up cocktails, dips, and even savory meals!
What I love most about the Smart Garden 27 is the joy it brings to my day, my kids excitedly rush in to check how much everything has grown overnight. It’s educational, delicious, and theres no mess - a mom win!
