How To Make The Best Turkey Burger
To make the best turkey burgers, my secret ingredient is Italian dressing. The flavors are amazing but it adds to the "juiciness" of the turkey burger. I feel like turkey burgers get a bad rep, but the Italian dressing really helps out in the juicy department!
The seasoning: I have rule of thumb that for every pound of ground meat I use 1 teaspoon of salt. It always ends up being the perfect amount!
Use a measuring scoop so you get perfectly uniform patties so they cook evenly and at the same rate!
Turkey Burger Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon lemon pepper
- ⅓ cup Zesty Italian Dressing
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¼ an onion, finely chopped
- ½ cup parsley, finely chopped
- 6 hamburger buns
- lettuce, pickle, ketchup mustard
Turkey Burger Instructions
- In a mixing bowl combine all of the ingredients and mix by hand until fully incorporated
- refrigerate for at least 10 minutes
- form into 6 patties & cook in a skillet over medium high heat for 4-5 minutes on each side.
- Assemble the burger to your liking!

- What meat can I sub in for the ground turkey? You could definitely use ground beef. Although I wouldn't recommend ground chicken, it would still work fine!
- My kids/husband don't like onion. Grate the onion super fine or completely omit it!
- What temperature do you cook turkey to? Poultry needs to reach an internal temperature of 165.
- Can you cook these turkey burgers in the oven? Yes! Just line a sheet tray with foil or parchment and at 375, cook them for 5 minutes each side.
- What toppings should I use? Toppings are up to you! But I love pickle, ketchup, mustard, red onion, and lettuce.
- Are these Italian turkey burgers healthy? Absolutely! Turkey is a lean protein and we aren't using any breadcrumbs or egg to bind these burgers so they are extremely light in calories!
