Ingredients

  • 2 8 oz blocks cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 6-8 slices bacon cooked and crumbled (reserve a little for topping)
  • 4-5 fresh jalapeños seeded and finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • optional: ¼ cup chopped pickled jalapeños to garnish
  • tortilla chips to serve

Instructions

  • Spray the Crockpot with nonstick spray.
  • Add cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar, mozzarella, jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, salt & pepper.
  • Cook on low for 2 hours, stirring once halfway through, until melted and bubbly.
  • Heat the oven to 350 degrees and bake the bacon on a foil lined sheet tray for 10-15 minutes until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  • Stir the dip once more when fully melted.
  • Top with bacon and extra jalapeño slices.
  • Serve warm directly from the crockpot or transfer to a shallow dish and serve with tortilla chips.

Notes

Storage Directions: Store jalapeño dip leftovers in an airtight container and keep in the fridge for 3-5 days. Reheat in the microwave, on the stove, in the oven, or in the Crockpot directly. Avoid freezing the dip – it’ll lose its consistency and turn grainy.
Recipe Tips
  1. Arrange a platter of dipping options. The consistency of this dip is perfect for scooping, so give your guests a variety of dippers, like corn chips, pita chips, crackers, pretzels, chunks of crusty bread, raw carrots, celery sticks, and cucumber slices. Yummy!
  2. Experiment with different cheese variations, like Monterey Jack cheese, Colby Jack, pepper Jack, parmesan cheese, or a block of Velveeta cheese.
  3. Finishing touches. Sprinkle a handful of shredded cheese, crumbled bacon, green chilies, green onions, toasted breadcrumbs, or a dusting of paprika over the dip before serving, as a final topper.
  4. Cream cheese at room temperature. Bring the cream cheese to room temperature for the smoothest, creamiest dip. Cold cream cheese will make it a more challenging mixture to incorporate with the other ingredients.
